Children are precious gifts entrusted to our care. At St. Mary’s of the Angels Convent High School, we consider it a privilege to accompany our students as they grow, learn, discover their talents and blossom into confident, compassionate and responsible young women.
Established in 1966 by our three pioneering Sisters — Sr. Etienne, Sr. Dolores and Sr. Gertrude — our school has journeyed through the years with a deep sense of purpose, faith and commitment to education. Their vision continues to inspire us even today.
Situated in Chinchinim, one of the prominent villages of Salcete, Goa, along the banks of the River Sal, our school has remained an important centre of education and formation for generations of young girls.
As a school dedicated to the education of girls at the Secondary level, we strive to provide a balanced and meaningful education that nurtures the Head, Heart and Hands. Along with academic excellence, we encourage our students to develop creativity, critical thinking, physical fitness, social responsibility, leadership qualities and the confidence to face the challenges of a changing world.
Faith and prayer remain at the heart of our school life. We seek to develop in our students a strong relationship with God, while encouraging them to recognise the dignity of every person and reach out to others with compassion and concern. Our educational journey therefore moves from the vertical dimension of faith to the horizontal dimension of service to humanity.
Over the decades, St. Mary’s has grown and evolved while remaining faithful to its foundational values. Our dedicated and committed staff, predominantly women, continue to play a vital role in creating an environment where every child is valued, encouraged and given opportunities to flourish. In this way, the school also stands as a meaningful example of women nurturing, educating and empowering the next generation of women.
Our Parent-Teacher Association and the wider parent community are valued partners in this journey. Their cooperation, encouragement and generous support strengthen our efforts and contribute greatly to the growth and development of our students. Together, we form a community that cares, supports and celebrates every child.
The consistent academic achievements of our students, including the school’s 100% SSC results in recent years, are a reflection of their hard work, the dedication of our teachers and the support of our parents.
Our school is also blessed with good infrastructure and facilities that enable students to explore their abilities beyond the classroom. Sports, cultural activities, creative pursuits and multidisciplinary learning provide opportunities for students to discover their strengths, develop teamwork and leadership, and grow into well-rounded individuals.
